Roofing Project Completion and Next Steps
What We Did

This project saw us working together with Oxfordshire County Council and Langleys. We were required to replace the roof and drainage system of St Andrews CofE Primary School whilst it remained open to pupils during term time

The original roof was suffering from many leaks and the existing internal drainage was poor. This resulted in ongoing issues within the building, causing great disruption and inconvenience to student learning.

As principal contractor we took control of site set up, building control and external contractors through to completion. We began by securing the site, implementing health and safety, erecting fencing, scaffolding and signage.

The process involved us making all internal outlets redundant to allow for an external gutter edge around the building. The old felt roof system was stripped back to the original deck and a new 18mm deck installed. This was followed by a primer, air and vapor control layer, a Parafoam Ultra insulation system, underlay and cap sheet to finish.

The Langley TA 25 tapered system is a torch applied warm flat roof system, backed by a 25 year guarantee. Its high performance, 40 year expected lifespan and its resistance to damage with an R4 rating, made this the perfect choice for this project.

The client was extremely happy as the project was completed over a 12 week period during term time with minimal disturbance to the students’ learning.
The Results
We replaced the roof using the Langley TA 25 tapered system—a torch-applied warm flat roof with a 25-year guarantee and 40-year lifespan. The system included new decking, Parafoam Ultra insulation, vapour control layers, and a durable cap sheet. Using high-quality materials has ensured this roof is future-proofed for long-lasting performance.
