Project Overview
All Aspect Roofing and Solar Solutions were commissioned to refurbish the existing flat roofs at a Nationwide commercial facility in Hinckley. The roofs were showing signs of age and reduced performance, so a complete overlay was required to improve waterproofing, insulation and long-term durability.
The client required a durable roofing solution that could extend the life of the existing roofs without the disruption and cost associated with a full replacement. The works were carefully planned to maintain access and minimise disruption to the site’s day-to-day operations.
The Challenge
The existing felt roofs had deteriorated over time, increasing the risk of water ingress and ongoing maintenance issues. Further repairs would only provide a short-term solution, so a more durable approach was required to extend the life of the roofs.
As the property remained in daily use, the works also needed to be carefully planned to maintain access and minimise disruption. The challenge was to deliver a long-term roofing solution while allowing the site to continue operating throughout the project.
The Solution
Survey and Specification
A detailed inspection confirmed that the existing roof was suitable for refurbishment using a liquid overlay system. We specified an Elastaseal liquid warm roof system, providing a seamless, multi-layer waterproofing solution. The system was installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidance and is covered by a 15-year guarantee.
Preparation and Application
The existing felt roof was retained and prepared as part of the new roof build-up. Primer and insulation adhesive were applied before new insulation boards were installed and prepared for the waterproofing system. The Elastaseal system was then applied in layers, incorporating fibreglass reinforcement and protective top coats to create a continuous, flexible and weather-resistant finish.
Programme and Coordination
The works were planned around the site’s day-to-day operations and phased to maintain access throughout the project. Regular communication with the site team helped ensure the works were completed safely and with minimal disruption.

The Results
The completed liquid warm roof overlay provided improved waterproofing and thermal insulation, giving the existing roof a more durable and energy-efficient solution. The seamless multi-layer system provides a continuous, flexible finish designed to improve resistance to weather exposure and extend the life of the roof.
The completed system is covered by a 15-year guarantee, providing the client with long-term protection and confidence in the refurbished roof. The project was delivered safely and on programme, with minimal disruption to the site’s day-to-day operations.
